How it works

About two minutes of questions. You choose who contacts you, and nobody else gets your details.

  1. Tell us about your home

Whether you own it or let it, your postcode, and the upgrades you're thinking about.

  2. We check the records

Your energy certificate from the government register, and whether the home is listed or in a conservation area.

  3. Choose one installer

Certified and local to you. Only the installer you pick gets your details.

  4. Get a quote and your funding options

Your installer visits and quotes. We show the grants and ways to pay that fit what you're installing.

How we work

We'd rather you knew exactly how this works before you give us your details.

Read how we make money

  • It's free for you. Installers pay us a referral fee, and only when work goes ahead.
  • You choose one installer. We don't sell your details or pass them to a list of companies.
  • Our partners are certified: MCS for heat pumps and solar, TrustMark or equivalent for insulation and glazing.
  • We're not a government scheme and we don't give financial advice. We point you to the official schemes you may qualify for.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. The installer or assessor you choose pays us a referral fee if you go ahead with the work. You don't pay us anything.

Why only one installer?

Most comparison sites pass your number to three or four companies at once. We think one certified installer you've chosen is a better experience. If you want a second quote, tell us and we'll introduce another.

What's an EPC and why do you look mine up?

An Energy Performance Certificate rates a home from A to G and lists improvements that would help. It's public, and it decides which grants you can get, so we look it up first. If you don't have one, you can book an accredited assessor through us.

Do you cover my area?

Our installers cover Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. You can check any home in England or Wales, but we can only introduce installers in those counties for now.

My home is listed or in a conservation area. Can I still upgrade it?

Usually, yes. Some work needs planning permission or listed building consent first, and secondary glazing is often easier than new windows. We check the planning register and tell your installer before they quote.

Can you help me pay for it?

After you send your enquiry, you can answer a few optional questions and we'll show you the grants and payment options that fit what you're installing, such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, 0% VAT, council grants and the Warm Homes Loan. We don't arrange loans or give financial advice.

What happens to my details?

We send them to the partner you choose and nobody else. Read our privacy notice for the full detail, including how long we keep them and how to ask us to delete them.
